Angola presidency: Eduardo dos Santos chooses his successor

Manuel Vicente, the chairman of Angola’s national oil company has stepped down from the country’s key industrial job to become a government minister. Mr Vicente has been appointed Minister for Economic Coordination by President Eduardo dos Santos in a move which puts him in pole position to succeed Mr dos Santos as president when he retires.
