Chile’s current administration, under President Sebastian Pinera has been memorable, not for the healthy state of the country’s economy, but for mass protests by students who are demanding equality for all within the education system. The president has now got his tax reforms, designed to overhaul the education system, through Chile’s Congress, which could help his party to victory in October’s municipal elections.
