Dorothee Deuring is an independent corporate finance advisor specialising in life sciences and healthcare.
She was responsible for the repositioning UBS’ European Corporate Finance Advisory Group (2011-2014) and led a team of 40 investment bankers providing corporate finance services to mid-market clients of the bank.
Prior to UBS, she worked for Roche’s Corporate Finance and Business Development, where she helped analyse and execute approximately 40 strategic life science projects and transactions.
In 1998, she founded a corporate finance boutique, CoCap, specialising in biotech financing, private placement, licensing and M&A advisory as well as distressed financing. She supported leading venture capital firms in analysing biotech and medtech investments and set up an electronic investment platform for private investors and business angels thereby pioneering internet-based venture capital exchanges.
Her career started at McKinsey’s pharmaceutical practice in Switzerland. She was an early contributor to McKinsey Ventures Switzerland, which led to the foundation of several biotech and medtech companies.
Dorothee Deuring comes from an entrepreneurial background. She served the family business, K. Deuring & Company, an Austrian food ingredients and specialty chemicals business, as a general manager before moving to Switzerland.
She holds a Master of Science degree in chemistry from Universite Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, and an MBA degree from INSEAD. She serves on the Board of Trustees of INSEAD.
