Christiaan Alting von Geusau

Christiaan Alting von Geusau worked as an attorney at international law firms Houthoff in Amsterdam and AKD in Brussels (1996-2004), then in Vienna first as General Counsel & Chief Development Officer (2004-2014) and subsequently as President and Rector (2014-2023) of ITI Catholic University.
During his 20 years’ tenure, he brought the university from a near-bankrupt institution in 2003 to a thriving and financially healthy institution by 2023, raising over 30 million euros in additional income, building and relocating to a new campus and launching programs that continue to substantially grow the student body today.
In 2010, Dr. Alting von Geusau founded and became president and CEO of the International Catholic Legislators Network (ICLN), a non-profit, non-partisan organization with offices in Europe, the US and Africa. The ICLN educates and connects legislators globally. In 2013 he also founded the private high school Schola Thomas Morus, where he serves as Chairman of the Board. In 2022 Dr. Alting von Geusau launched the Fellowship of Young Christian Global Leaders to educate the next generation for principled leadership.
Dr. Alting Von Geusau obtained master’s degrees at Leiden University in the Netherlands and then at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, subsequently with distinction earning his doctorate in legal philosophy at the University of Vienna, Austria. He is a tenured professor of law and education at ITI Catholic University (Austria) and holds an honorary professorship at the law faculty of San Ignacio de Loyola University (Peru). He speaks and publishes internationally and loves teaching the young.
Christiaan Alting von Geusau speaks Dutch, English, German, French and Spanish and has lived and worked in The Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Austria, Belgium and France. He is the recipient of various high state honors. Christiaan is married and the father of 5 children.
