Steve Davies

Dr. Steve Davies is senior education fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs. A historian by training, he is a graduate of University of St. Andrews and taught for 30 years at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Dr. Davies is the author of Empiricism and History, The Wealth Explosion: The Nature and Origins of Modernity, Apocalypse Next: The Economics of Global Catastrophic Risks, The Streetwise Guide to the Devil and His Works, and The Great Realignment: Why the New Right Is Here to Stay (Polity Press, 2026).

His academic work focuses on intellectual history, the history of political thought, the economics of football, and virtual worlds.
