Fidel Amakye Owusu
Fidel Amakye Owusu is a geopolitical and security advisor at Riley Risk Inc., where he conducts in-depth analysis and reporting on the risk environment and security events in various regions. Mr. Owusu evaluates potential threats and risks for the company’s clients using a proprietary risk assessment system, leveraging his prior experience as a senior conflicts analyst at the Conflict Research Consortium for Africa, where he analyzed and wrote extensively about conflict situations and actors across the continent.
Mr. Owusu is also the CEO of DefSEC Analytics Africa Ltd., a consultancy he founded in 2023 to provide strategic advice and solutions on security and defense matters in Africa. With a strong background in international relations and security, he holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international affairs from the University of Ghana. Additionally, he has worked as a special assistant to a former Ghanaian vice president and in the president’s office. Mr. Owusu shares his expertise on security and geopolitics through peer-reviewed articles, opinion pieces, media appearances and public-speaking engagements.
