The on-going squabbles between Moscow and Kiev are a mere sideshow. Russia's global standing is no longer dependent on it regaining political strength over Ukraine but over its forgotten land - the Far East region which fast-growing China is eyeing up for the vast resources it holds, says GIS expert Professor Stefan Hedlund.
