Japan has enormous potential to generate energy from alternative sources. Government figures estimate that floating offshore wind farms, together with other sources of alternative energy, would in theory provide enough energy to completely replace thermal and nuclear power in Japan. GIS expert, Professor Dr Stefan Lippert examines the alternatives in this special report.
