Female faces are still a rare sight in Asian politics
Most of the women who have made it to the top in Asian politics, such as Indira Gandhi in India, have come from political families with the ‘right’ connections. The path to the top in business is equally difficult. This is the first in a two-part series on female leaders in Asia looking at the challenges for women in politics – particularly at a time when Asian countries dominate the global economy, so there is little incentive to follow the Western model of greater female participation.
