The election of 450 members to Russia’s State Duma this weekend is unlikely to produce any surprises. But the swing of the vote could be revealing and indicate both the state of the nation and the feeling of its people. GIS expert Professor Stefan Hedlund takes a look at who’s who in this briefing and considers the importance of this event in the run up to next year’s presidential elections.
