US President Barack Obama has already fired the starting gun for the US presidential race. GIS expert, Professor Colleen Graffy examines what impact the Tea Party movement may have on the outcome.
THE Tea Party movement in the United States was born out of frustration with a government which appeared to be growing unchecked and creating a national debt and federal budget deficit which could no longer be tolerated.
Members of the Tea Party, which emerged in 2009, are predominantly conservative and libertarian but united in their support for reduced government spending and opposition to increased taxation.
