Japan raises the bar in high speed train technology

Japan is preparing to embark on a massive railway project connecting the capital, Tokyo, and Japan’s third largest city, Osaka, with a train which can travel at speeds of up to 505km/h using innovative magnetic levitation or maglev technology to move it along the track or ‘guideway’. The new ‘floating’ train went successfully through its latest test run earlier in 2013.

JAPAN looks like disproving the perceived wisdom that only dictatorships can execute large scale, innovative infrastructure projects.
