Kati Kang is a Chinese and Korean specialist who advises diplomats and senior international company executives on the Chinese language, culture, history and politics.
She was born in Manchuria, China, to Korean parents and educated in Beijing and Hong Kong.
Ms. Kang left China in 1990, not long after the Tiananmen Square student-led protests of 1989 in Beijing. She has worked and lived in South Korea, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
She has been a commentator on international politics, particularly issues of the Korean peninsula, for Hong Kong newspapers and magazines for 15 years. She has been involved in broadcasting work for Voice of America and Radio Free Asia. Ms. Kang also writes for Chinese publications.
She has lived in the UK since March 2015.
