GIS Guest Expert Ken Davies is founder and President of Growing Capacity, Inc., a consultancy promoting investment for development. He was Chief Economist, Asia and Hong Kong Bureau Chief for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) until 2001, also writing and editing many quarterly country reports, country forecasts and country risk reports on Asian countries. In 2002 became Head of Global Relations in the Investment Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, where he wrote and published investment policy reviews of China, India and Russia, working with the governments concerned. After retiring from the OECD in 2010, he spearheaded publication of research at the Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment in New York for a year. He has degrees in Economics, Chinese Studies and Sociology.
