Lucia Dammert is a sociologist with a PhD in Political Science. She is currently Executive Director of the Global Consortium on Security Transformation. Her most recent books are Maras (2011) edited with Thomas Bruneau published by University of Texas Press and Crime and Fear in Latin America by Routledge.
She has been a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the European Commission, in countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Dominican Republican, El Salvador, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
