Portugal accused of attempted coup in Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau’s transitional government has blamed Portugal for helping launch an attempted coup. The attack was foiled and the ringleader – who had been in exile in Portugal - was arrested along with others. This is the latest unrest in a country plagued by coups, violence and drug trafficking which has seen no government complete its term since independence in 1974.
