GIS Guest Expert Remi Adekoya is a Polish-Nigerian writer and commentator on politics and current affairs, focusing on Europe and West Africa. He is the former political editor of Warsaw Business Journal. He has been a columnist for the Guardian for several years and his writing has appeared in a wide range of international media including Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Politico, the Washington Post, BBC and Radio France International, among others. He has also written for several Polish media including Gazeta Wyborcza, Wprost, Central European Financial Observer, Natemat.pl and Poland Today.
He is currently conducting doctoral research on the role of political leadership in constructing ethnic identities in Nigeria. He focuses on issues of identity, sociopolitical behavior, political communication and geopolitics.
