Syria rebellion turns into an international war

Unlike the conflicts of the Arab Spring, the fighting in Syria has taken on an international aspect as the list of nations involved, directly or indirectly, has continued to grow. The West is no longer in control of the world’s power games, which makes resolution of the tragedy more complicated. But Europe may have a vital role to play in ending the diplomatic stalemate – one of moderation and arbitration.
