Emmanuel Martin is the director of the Institute for Economic Studies-Europe, an educational think tank based in Paris. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Aix-en-Provence in France.
Dr. Martin has served as editor of the francophone reformist projects UnMondeLibre.org and then LibreAfrique.org. He has moderated and lectured in seminars for the Institute for Economic Studies, the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung, and AtlasNetwork for several years in various countries.
He worked with the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., in the United States, and for the Association pour la Liberté Économique et le Progrès Social in Paris.
Dr. Martin has written numerous opinion pieces on various topics, from French politics and economics to African issues. They have appeared in newspapers and magazines such as Les Échos in France, L'Écho in Belgium, Il Foglio in Italy, The Wall Street Journal Europe, El Watan in Algeria and Libération in Morocco.
Martin is the scientific coordinator of the book "Anti-Piketty" (Libréchange, 2015), which gathers critiques to French economist Thomas Piketty's "Capital in the 20th century" from top economists such as Martin Feldstein, Hans-Werner Sinn, Daron Acemoglu and many others
