Svyatoslav Kaspe (Moscow) is Professor at National Research University – Higher School of Economics (Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Political Science), and Editor in Chief at Politeia (Journal of Political Theory, Political Philosophy and Sociology of Politics). His academic degree is Doctor of Sciences in Political Institutes, Political Processes and Technologies (2009).
He trained as an historian and then as political scientist. His research interests include, besides some theoretical issues like political systems of empires, federalism, political parties and party systems, the nature of modern democracy, the practical applications of these concepts to the actual Russian realities.
He has published four books and some 50 journal articles and book chapters.
Moreover, he has a large experience in applied political analysis and political consulting – as a formal member of such Russian think tanks like Russian Public Policy Center (formerly) and Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (actually), as well as in his own personal capacity. He was preparing a lot of various political documents for governmental bodies (on the federal and regional levels), political parties, NGO’s, independent research institutions etc.
His latest book “Political Form and Political Evil” was published by Moscow School of Civic Education, Moscow, Russia in 2016.
