Urs Schöttli is a columnist for Die Neue Zürcher Zeitung, a Swiss newspaper, and is also an independent advisor on Asian affairs. He previously served as the paper’s correspondent in Delhi, Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo.
From 1990 to 1995 he was Iberia Representative of the German Friedrich-Naumann Foundation for Freedom, and from 1978 to 1991 he was secretary general and vice president of Liberal International in London.
He has published several books, the latest being “Die neuen Asiaten,” which deals with generational change in contemporary Asia. He lives in Tokyo and Mumbai.
